ZDRAVO! I’M LAURA,Â
and I’ve been teaching Slovenian since 2020. My teaching journey began unexpectedly during the pandemic when my hospitality job paused, and I started teaching Slovene online. I quickly discovered that sharing my knowledge is just as exciting as learning something new.
Born and raised in Ljubljana, Slovenia, I’ve always loved my home country’s caves, lakes, castles, mountains, and coastline. While I’ve explored other cultures, improving my German in Vienna, studying in the Netherlands, and joining Erasmus+ projects in Italy, Latvia, and Sweden. Slovenia is the place I always return to.
In my B1 intermediate course, I help you strengthen your existing skills and move toward fluency with confidence. We’ll focus on expanding vocabulary, mastering grammar in context, and developing natural communication skills. Through digital tools, multimedia, and authentic real-life materials, you’ll practice expressing yourself more freely while staying engaged with an interactive, tech-driven approach.

COURSE CONTENT
The course is designed for English speakers who already have a foundation in Slovenian. Since English and Slovenian differ in structure and grammar, I continue to explain more complex concepts in English to ensure clarity. At the same time, we’ll gradually shift into Slovenian more often, so you can get used to thinking and responding in the language.
This intermediate course is perfect if you’ve completed my beginner’s program or already know the basics (A1–A2 level). We’ll build on what you know by introducing richer vocabulary, more advanced grammar, and plenty of opportunities to practice real-life communication. The lessons progress step by step, helping you move confidently toward fluency.

EVERYDAY LIFE IN DEPTH
You’ll learn to manage more complex scenarios: from asking for directions, booking accommodations, and handling travel situations, to discussing hobbies, work, and personal interests. You’ll be able to interact more confidently with locals in real-life contexts.
GRAMMAR IN ACTION
We’ll move past the basics into intermediate grammar structures, including verb tenses beyond the present (past and future forms), reflexive verbs, comparatives, and more advanced sentence building. You’ll practice grammar through real examples so it feels natural and useful.

The course are divided into several sections, containing more than x video lessons and exercises. I recommend watching the sessions in order, as the course offer a sequential and logical learning path.
